The news about the circulation of synthetic rice in Indonesia, is quite disturbing people. Because if you eat this plastic rice could lead to a direct effect of dizziness and nausea and cancer if consumed in the long term. This is because the fake rice made in China contain hazardous compounds.
A laboratory test conducted by PT Sucofindo Lab Bahasa Murah mention that rice contains folifenil chloride synthetic material that is commonly used in the manufacture of polymer pipes, cables and flooring. This was conveyed by Head of Testing Laboratory SBU PT Sucofindo, Adisam ZN during a press conference at the Media Center, Building 10 Floor Bekasi city government on Thursday (21/5) yesterday.
"Although containing hazardous compounds however, test the samples using infrared method also found levels of carbohydrates, nutrients and protein," says Adisam.
Furthermore, Adisam say if the synthetic protein content in rice is probably due to mixing with native rice by the seller. So how to distinguish physically will be very difficult to remember the shape and color similar to the original rice.
In addition, PT Sucofindo, research on counterfeit rice from China is also done by BPOM. But until now, BPOM has not issued an official statement related to the research. Whereas the results of this BPOM highly awaited by the public whether the tested samples of rice plastic or not.
